All heat pumps in our ranking are supported by documentation based on tests carried out in independent, accredited laboratories within the EU or EFTA. The results of these tests are fully consistent with the product fiche and energy label, and the reports cover all key parameters, ensuring reliability and compliance with manufacturers' declarations.

We do not include devices evaluated solely based on quality marks (such as KEYMARK, EUROVENT, MCS, EHPA Q, NF), which rely on partial tests and manufacturer declarations, because only comprehensive laboratory testing:

Heat Pump COP Ranking


Ikona COP

The COP (Coefficient of Performance) indicates the efficiency of a heat pump by showing how much heat it delivers to the building relative to the amount of electrical energy consumed. For example, if a heat pump has a COP of 4, it means that for every kilowatt-hour of electricity used, it provides four times more energy in the form of heat.

The COP depends on the operating conditions of the heat pump, primarily the outdoor temperature and the water temperature in the heating system. It is most commonly provided for underfloor heating (35°C) and for radiator heating and domestic hot water (DHW) systems (55°C).

Our ranking is based on presenting heat pump parameters at lower temperatures, when homes are actually being heated — because this is when their performance matters most.

Sound power level indicates the amount of noise generated by the heat pump during operation. This is an important parameter, especially if the unit is to be installed close to a residential building or neighboring properties.

The sound level in decibels (dB) increases logarithmically, which means that even a small increase in dB value results in a significant increase in sound power.

 

 

The chart illustrates the relationship between sound level in decibels (dB) and relative sound power.

An increase of just a few dB represents a much larger rise in sound power than it might seem — for example, the difference between 59 dB and 65 dB means four times more sound power, even though the dB difference appears small. That’s why a 65 dB noise level (busy street) is much more disturbing than 59 dB (office with background conversations).

Why do we provide the noise level at -7°C in the heat pump ranking?

Manufacturers usually declare noise levels at +7°C (partial load), which does not reflect real operating conditions in winter, when the heat pump runs at full capacity. In our ranking, we focus on noise measurements at -7°C, meaning at full load, because this is when the heat pump operates at its loudest.

Our goal is to provide reliable and practical information that will help you make an informed choice — selecting a device that is not only efficient but also acoustically comfortable throughout the year. This way, you can avoid disappointment when the heat pump turns out to be louder in winter than suggested by manufacturer data given for +7°C.

Dzień dobry, dziękujemy za pytanie i zainteresowanie naszym rankingiem pomp ciepła. Chcielibyśmy zaznaczyć, że w trakcie tworzenia zestawienia nie analizowaliśmy szczegółowo możliwości współpracy pomp ciepła z buforem ciepła czy innym źródłem ogrzewania, takim jak kocioł na pellet. Takie funkcjonalności nie były brane pod uwagę, dlatego nie jesteśmy w stanie jednoznacznie wskazać modeli spełniających te kryteria. W przypadku planowanej współpracy pompy z buforem 1000 l i kotłem pelletowym (z automatycznym przełączaniem zależnym od taryf prądu i temperatury), najlepiej skonsultować się bezpośrednio z producentem lub dystrybutorem konkretnej pompy, która Panią interesuje.

Ekologiczny cykl życia pomp ciepła – na co naprawdę wpływają? Pompy ciepła coraz częściej postrzegane są jako ekologiczna alternatywa dla kotłów gazowych i węglowych. Ale czy rzeczywiście są tak „zielone”, jak się wydaje? Sprawdzamy to na podstawie analizy cyklu życia (LCA – Life Cycle Assessment), która obejmuje wszystkie etapy istnienia urządzenia – od produkcji po utylizację. Produkcja: wpływ surowców i transportu Produkcja pomp ciepła wiąże się z emisją CO₂ – głównie przez energochłonną produkcję komponentów, takich jak sprężarki czy elektronika. Znaczenie mają również materiały: stal, miedź i aluminium, których wydobycie obciąża środowisko. Warto zwrócić uwagę na kraj produkcji. Pompy produkowane lokalnie (np. w Polsce) mają niższy ślad transportowy niż urządzenia sprowadzane z Azji. Tak, wszystkie pompy ciepła ujęte w naszym rankingu – w tym również te wyprodukowane w Chinach – znajdują się na liście ZUM . Obecność na tej liście oznacza, że każda z tych pomp musi posiadać dokumentację opartą na badaniach wykonanych w niezależnych, akredytowanych laboratoriach UE lub EFTA. W związku z tym spełniają one wymagania europejskich norm. Jeśli natomiast chodzi o dostępność lokalnego serwisu i części zamiennych, kwestia ta leży już po stronie konkretnego producenta lub jego dystrybutora. Tak, zdecydowanie warto. Dodanie fotowoltaiki do pompy ciepła to bardzo dobre połączenie z kilku powodów: Większa autokonsumpcja – pompa ciepła zużywa najwięcej energii w ciągu dnia, gdy panele PV produkują prąd. Dzięki temu więcej energii zużywasz na bieżąco, zamiast oddawać ją do sieci. Niższe rachunki za prąd – korzystając z własnej energii, ograniczasz zakup drogiego prądu z sieci, szczególnie teraz, gdy opłacalność systemu net-billingu spadła. Lepszy zwrot z inwestycji – im więcej energii zużyjesz sam, tym szybciej zwróci się instalacja PV. Dla każdej formy ogrzewania – czy to pompa ciepła, gaz, czy pellet – dom powinien być dobrze ocieplony: -ściany, dach, podłogi z odpowiednią izolacją, -szczelne, nowoczesne okna (najlepiej trzyszybowe), -niska strata ciepła – najlepiej do 60–70 W/m². Im lepsza izolacja, tym mniejsze zużycie energii – i tym bardziej opłaca się pompa. Jeśli dom nie jest idealnie przygotowany, a montaż pompy i tak musi nastąpić, warto postawić na mocniejsze modele z wysokim COP przy -10°C do -7°C – najlepiej na propan (R290), który dobrze radzi sobie w zimnym klimacie.

Dodatkowe źródło ciepła często stosuje się, by obniżyć koszt instalacji pompy ciepła. Jeśli jednak pompa jest dobrze dobrana i wystarczająco mocna – szczególnie na mrozy (np. R290, dobre COP przy -10°C) – to grzałka elektryczna włącza się rzadko i generuje do 10% rocznych kosztów. Czyli tak – może działać sama, ale warto mieć wsparcie na najzimniejsze dni.

Nie musisz mieć ogrzewania podłogowego, aby pompa ciepła działała efektywnie – choć jest to rozwiązanie najbardziej optymalne. Pompy ciepła najlepiej współpracują z instalacjami niskotemperaturowymi, czyli takimi, które wymagają do pracy niższej temperatury wody (ok. 30–40°C). Ogrzewanie podłogowe idealnie wpisuje się w ten zakres, dlatego pozwala w pełni wykorzystać wysoką efektywność pompy ciepła. Jeśli jednak w domu masz tradycyjne grzejniki, również możesz z powodzeniem zainstalować pompę – pod warunkiem, że system zostanie odpowiednio dobrany i przystosowany. Czasem konieczna może być wymiana części grzejników na większe lub niskotemperaturowe. W wielu przypadkach pompy ciepła pracują efektywnie również z klasycznym systemem grzejnikowym, szczególnie jeśli budynek jest dobrze ocieplony. To bardzo trafna obserwacja — polski klimat, szczególnie zimą, stawia przed pompami ciepła spore wyzwania. To właśnie w tych warunkach pompa pracuje najintensywniej i różnice między modelami stają się naprawdę widoczne — niektóre urządzenia znacznie tracą na wydajności, inne nadal zapewniają komfort cieplny i niskie zużycie energii. Zachęcam do przyjrzenia się urządzeniom projektowanym i testowanym właśnie z myślą o naszej strefie klimatycznej — na przykład tym od polskiej firmy Kostrzewa.
